Extraterrestrial life

In ancient times, humans thought that Earth was the center of the Universe and that the celestial bodies revolve around it. But the scientist Galileo changed these concepts and developed a new equation, removing the earth from its center to make it an object like other celestial bodies orbiting the sun. To belief that other planets may contain life and space objects that share the human in this vast universe, and with the passage of time and the discovery of the solar system in more precise ways, based on Kepler space mission data, that there could be as many as 40 billion Earth sized planet orbiting in the habitable zone of sun like stars and red dwarfs in the Milky Way, 11 billion of which may be orbiting Sun-like stars. By studying the details of life, they consist of complex chemical structures and DNA molecules, all of which consist mainly of atoms that were part of a blown star one day, Suzanne Bell, an analytical chemist at West Virginia University, estimates that a 150-pound human body contains about 6.5 octillion (that’s 6,500,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000) atoms. The vast majority of them are hydrogen (humans are almost entirely water, which comprises two hydrogen atoms and an oxygen) which are the essential components of life (Kaplan, 2016). These components have come together over billions of years to form new clouds, planets and orbits, which means the existence of the components of life, and therefore the possibility of life exists outside the earth and may even spread other beings throughout the universe.

In the nineteen twenties Hubble established the basic outlines of our present picture of the universe as an enormous rapidly expanding collection of galaxies. As this scientific picture evolved, it became more difficult to accommodate the existence of other human-like civilizations in it. The imagined family of man-like gods was replaced in most religious belief by a single deity whose physical nature and location was usually not specifically described. However fascinated curiosity about the possibility of other human like beings persists. As recently as 1909, respected astronomer Lowell seriously advanced the idea that ‘canals’ on Mars were evidence of a form of extraterrestrial life there (Halley, 2012. P1).

The concept of extraterrestrial life, and particularly extraterrestrial intelligence, has had a major cultural impact, chiefly in works of science fiction. Over the years, science fiction communicated scientific ideas, imagined a wide range of possibilities, and influenced public interest in and perspectives of extraterrestrial life. One shared space is the debate over the wisdom of attempting communication with extraterrestrial intelligence. Some encourage aggressive methods to try for contact with intelligent extraterrestrial life. Others—citing the tendency of technologically advanced human societies to enslave or wipe out less advanced societies—argue that it may be dangerous to actively call attention to Earth. (Wikipedia)

“And if there really are creatures can we communicate with them Are these objects will be hostile to us as the movies appear Here we start talking from the beginning of creation in order to come to know about these strange things When God created the universe did not create the spring in vain, but created and equipped to be a place to live Adam and Sons were provided with all the causes of life and were not created for chance. Perhaps some scientists have said the possibility of existence and others said it is impossible and even if it is located on another galaxy, the possibility of access is impossible as the nearest galaxy to us in need of millions of years of travel Perhaps the beginning of the idea was with the publication of some news of finding debris A plane in the area of Roselle in Texas and from here began doubts and continued story and rumors began to increase and began many people to claim to see the dishes of a plane or strange aliens” (Steemit).

(CNN) Last month, The New York Times published an article describing a secret government program investigating reports by military pilots of unidentified flying objects they encountered in the course of their daily duties. The media was awash with stories of flying saucers and extraterrestrial encounters, with scientists downplaying the likelihood of alien visitation and UFO enthusiasts exclaiming their excitement. While I sit very firmly on the side that believes these reports more likely have an unremarkable and terrestrial explanation, whether alien life exists is a very real and credible scientific question. What is the possibility that life -- and even intelligent life -- exists around a star other than our own? And how can we find out? (Lincoln, 2018)

Questions for discussion

1- Do you believe in aliens?

2- Would aliens be hostile?
